Healthcare Administration

The healthcare industry, like any successful business, needs quality managers to maintain the efficiency of the organization.  The healthcare administration field can prepare you to work in leadership and management positions in hospitals, doctors’ offices, community healthcare facilities, long-term care facilities, and outpatient care centers. Combining caring with leadership and business management – healthcare administration may be the field for you! 

Medical Assisting
Available as Associate (Availability varies by campus.)
The Medical Assisting program can prepare you with the knowledge, technical skills, computer proficiency and work habits necessary for entry-level employment in various healthcare positions. You can gain proficiency in both administrative and clinical skills through interactive and hands-on learning, including externships. If you like helping people, a career in medical assisting may be right for you.

Dental Assisting

The responsibilities of a dental assistant can involve both clinical and administrative duties. Dental assistants who are directly involved in patient care are often called chairside assistants. The skill of working chairside with a dentist is called four-handed dentistry. Other duties of a dental assistant may include performing lab work, sterilizing and disinfecting rooms and instruments, answering phones, filing charts, scheduling patients, charting, taking and processing X-rays, ordering supplies, and maintaining dental equipment.

Health Information Management

The Health Information Management program is designed to prepare graduates to demonstrate proficiency in the arena of health data management. Graduates can be prepared to ensure the availability of accurate health data through the application of healthcare technologies such as the electronic health record (EHR).

Medical Radiography
Available as Associate (Availability varies by campus.)
Medical radiography is a hands-on career that lets you play an important role in the delivery of care by providing images to help identify problem areas in patients. Diagnostic Medial Sonography

A diagnostic medical sonographer provides patient services using medical ultrasound. Working under the supervision of a physician, the sonographer helps gather sonographic data to monitor or diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases. Diagnostic medical sonographers may be employed in hospitals, clinics, private offices and other health facilities.

Surgical Technology

If you are a person who wants a valued and rewarding career in the medical field, and if you want to be part of the important and dynamic action in today’s surgical operating rooms, then a career in surgical technology might be right for you. Surgical technologists are also known as scrubs or surgical or operating room technicians. They assist in surgical operations under the direction of surgeons, registered nurses, physician assistants or other surgical personnel.

Physical Therapist Assisting
Available as Associate (Availability varies by campus.)
A physical therapist assistant plays an important role on the patient care team. While working under the supervision of a physical therapist, an assistant will help individuals who are ill, injured, or have a health condition that limits their ability to perform daily activities.  A physical therapist assistant will work with patients to increase mobility, strength, and coordination while helping to decrease pain, increase motion, and improve function. 

Massage Therapy
Available as Associate (Availability varies by campus.)
This program teaches the art and science of massage therapy while focusing on the medical and rehabilitative effects of massage. It is designed to teach sound business practices, thus preparing students for success in the workplace. With the integration of clinical experience and hands-on work through an externship, the curriculum can provide the student with an opportunity to see and experience care as it is given to patients in various stages of health.
